Krawczyk v. New York State United Teachers

CASE SUMMARY

The Fairness Center filed a federal civil rights lawsuit on behalf of Matthew Krawczyk, a high school teacher who resigned from New York State United Teachers (“NYSUT”) in September 2020. Although Mr. Krawczyk is no longer a union member, the union and his employer continue to take union dues from his paychecks. Mr. Krawczyk brings this lawsuit to enforce his constitutional rights not to be associated with or to financially support a union against his will.
